- Parking: There are no parking facilities on site. Public car parks are available nearby, including Britannia and Priory Street. Disabled badge holder spaces are available on Museum Street (100-200m from the entrance) and further away on the High Street.
- Accessibility: The grotto is accessible for pushchairs. Visitors with sensory impairments can email museums@colchester.gov.uk after booking for assistance. Visual stories and sensory maps are available. Assistance dogs are welcome. A hearing loop is available at reception and in the prisons. Subtitles and BSL are available for some films. Ear defenders and twiddlemuffs can be borrowed.
